_shocking-video-shows-50-foot-whale-beached-along-shoreline.webp "A shocking video shows a 50-foot-long beached whale washed up on the shore in Delaware, USA.<br/><br/>The videos, filmed on Sunday, near the Indian River Inlet Bridge in Sussex County, show the huge mammal lying motionless as spectators gather to take a look.<br/><br/>A representative from the Marine Education, Research, and Rehabilitation Institute (MERR) confirmed that the whale was a sub-adult fin whale.<br/><br/>According to MERR, fin whales are an off-shore, deep-sea species that would not usually be near the shore unless they are very weak.<br/><br/>MERR officials did attempt to sedate the animal, but couldn't get close enough due to high water levels and strong waves.<br/><br/>The whale sadly didn't survive.")
