The titular team in The Marvels is a group that comes together totally by accident. Thanks to a cosmic anomaly, Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, Teyonnah Parris’ Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan find their special light-based powers entangled, and they are basically forced to unite in order to stop what’s causing it. Accidental as the ensemble may be, however, what’s cool about the special unit is the way in which it allows the film to play with very different perspectives on the heroic Captain Marvel.<br/><br/>On one hand, Monica has essentially been neglected by her aunt for the last 30 years, and on the other hand, Kamala is a superfan who dreams of being besties with Carol. It’s a special dynamic, and I brought it up this past weekend when I had the chance to sit down with director Nia DaCosta at the Los Angeles press day for The Marvels. I asked about the impact of the special relationships within the eponymous unit.

Day two of the 2024 NFL Draft and the Dallas Cowboys have three picks before the night ends.<br/><br/>Round 2 : Pick 56<br/><br/>Round 3 : Pick 73 <br/><br/>Round 3 : Pick 87<br/><br/>The Cowboys selected DE Marshawn Kneeland out of Western Michigan for their second round pick 56. We knew that the Cowboys had two areas of importance on both the offensive line and the defensive line. The offensive line issue was answered on day one with the selection of OT Tyler Guyton. He will replace Tyron Smith, the Cowboys lost Smith in free agency to the Jets. Dallas lost Dorance Armstrong in free agency as well to Washington so the Kneeland pick makes sense, he will help with the loss of Armstrong. <br/><br/>Kneeland came out of Western Michigan University in his 2023 season he played in nine games and had a career-high 57 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and eight quarterback hurries. Kneeland was named second-team All-MAC. <br/><br/>Also, Dallas needs help with the run and they have lacked in that department for a couple years…Marshawn Kneeland had a 99 percentile run stop % since 2022. <br/><br/>The Cowboys selected G Cooper Beebe out of Kansas State with their 73rd overall pick in the third round on day two of the draft. Dallas continues to prioritize their offensive line by grabbing another guard early. <br/><br/>Beebe was a First-Team All-American in 2023. He played in 51 games for Kansas State and started in 48 of them. His 48 starts ranked 5th highest amongst all wildcats since 1990. He was named 2022 and 2023 Big12 Offensive Lineman of the year, one of five players to earn the honor since the award started in 2006. In his career Beebe only gave up five sacks amongst 1,488 career pass blocking snaps. <br/><br/>The Cowboys selected LB Martist Liufau out of Notre Dame with their 87th overall pick in the third round of the NFL Draft. This was another area where the Cowboys needed some work, with the loss of Leighton Vander Esch to injuries it left an opening for opportunity. <br/><br/>Liufau finished his 2023 season as a second year starter for Notre Dame. He finished 2023 as one of the team’s top tacklers. Liufau had 44 stops while displaying his ability to drop into coverage (two pass break-ups), rush the passer (three sacks), and made tremendous plays behind the line of scrimmage. <br/><br/>Rounds four, five, six, and seven will continue on Saturday and the draft will conclude on Saturday night. A MAN claims he has created a car that might solve the world’s traffic congestion problems. Rick Woodbury from Spokane, Washington USA, is the president, founder and sole employee of ‘Commuter Cars.’ The carmaker’s flagship model is the 2005 super slim two-seater Tango T600, a high-performance electric car that preceded Tesla. Rick told us: “I started this company 21 years ago – it was based on an idea that I came up with in 1982.” He was inspired by the shocking traffic congestion he had to face on a daily basis. “I used to drive a Porsche from Beverly Hills to Hermosa Beach every day and the traffic was horrendous,” explained Rick. What really made Rick think about a solution was the fact that in most of the cars he would see in his commute were occupied by lone drivers. “I noticed that everybody around me was a single occupant in a car, taking up the whole lane,” Rick said. Living and working in Los Angeles also helped inspire Rick’s unique creation. “I thought, everyone wants to get from point A to point B efficiently, and in cities like Los Angeles there’s really no centre, there’s no hub, everybody goes everywhere,” explained Rick. For him, there is a simple solution, and that is reducing the width that vehicles take up on the road so that 2 can fit comfortably in a single lane. “I don’t think there’s any other answer except doubling lane capacity,” said Rick. With a length of 102 inches this micro car can be parked just about anywhere, just like you would with a motorbike. Rick said: “The length is the same width of a semi-truck so I can park perpendicular to the curb.”The selling point of this vehicle is that it can drive in-between cars better than any other car. “The coolest feature for me to that it can get through traffic faster than any car in history,” said Rick. Much like a motorbike, the Tango T500 can drive right up to the stop line of traffic lights.
